About Me: Born in the gateway to the west. Raised all over the state of Colorful Colorado (by the way Colorado only has 3 colors. Brown, Green, and blue). We moved around a lot. My best, and usually only, friend was my brother. I had a less than normal education. Instead of going to school I spent my days barefoot in the backyard, reading as many books as I could, Including the dictionary and 3 sets of encyclopedias, Drawing, Painting, Discovering things in unexpected places, climbing trees, and hosting a pretend radio show (I still have the tapes). I now spend my days Painting, reading, dancing, laughing (and sometimes snorting) in the face of adversity, Petting my cats, Day dreaming, night dreaming and Living life, drinking bubble tea, writing bad poetry, studying Zen, Not wearing shoes (ha! take that civilized society!!), loving, caring, and growing older (and hopefully wiser too). A lot of people say I'm intimidating until they talk to me and find out I'm a huge nerd.
My dream is to buy some land somewhere(maybe in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oregon, or Colorado), and build an earth bag home under the trees. I want to grow my own food and live and love.
I am all about St. Louis vegifide meetups!
"You're alive. Do something. The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act." - Barbara Hall,
How I became a veggie: I was vegetarian off and on during my childhood. Then a couple years ago I started asking my vegan brother some questions about being vegan. I did some more research (which started with watching Meet your Meat)and havn't eaten meat since that day. I think its stupid for people to say they can't be vegetarian because they like the taste of meat. I loved meat and ate it 3 times a day. My friend and I used to buy a whole baked chicken as a snack and eat it with our bare hands (she's a veggie now too). My Myspace name was even Mmmmmeat for a while. So if I can do it, I don't see why other people should have such a problem. Plus after you stop eating meat you find that it actually doesn't taste that great.
