About Me: My name is Amaleah.
I live for biking, anarchy, records, piano, animals, old hard core (i.e. minor threat and bad brains, not that as i lay dying crap), diy, reading, and hanging out at the park.
car free is the way to be. :)

How I became a veggie: I just don't understand why everyone isn't a vegan.
I was an undereducated vegetarian for about 8 years.
About 7 months ago, I realized, during all those years of thinking I was making a difference, I was still consuming dead flesh.
So manny people are unaware of ingredients that are not vegetarian that can be found in almost anything, like bread, french fries, onion rings, cheeses, even some veggie burgers that are marketed for health reasons. I went on eating casein, rennet, tallow, and even beef fat. Also, I wasn't aware of all the horrors of factory farming.
Around November or December, I was eating some Burger King onions rings in front of my vegan boyfriend, and he told me that I was eating intestines and he told me why he doesn't have respect for vegetarians. I was shocked. I thought I was living a no-death life style, but I was sitting there in my room munching on intestines.
Well, after doing lots of reading on factory farming and the harm it has most definitely on the animals, but also on the people who consume the products, I am now completely armed with vegan knowledge.
I suggest that vegetarians who are compassionate about animals and vegetarians who are concerned for their health (or anyone!) do some serious research on factory farming. Knowledge is power! If you are going to do something, so it right. Veganism is not something to be done half-heartedly. So do your research, my animal loving friends.
