I live by a DIY type ethic which sometimes makes it difficult for me to ask for help. Other than that, I guess I'm fairly approachable and I love a bit of conversation. Animals and Art are my life and I am devoted to serving both worlds in the best ways that I can. Lately I have been spending time taking care of my Cacti and trying to make my Myface profile look remotely cool. I have a thing for (vegan) Battered Eggplants, Freshly-Squeezed Orange Juice and Anything in Black Bean Sauce. I am a cynic, forever hoping.
How I became a veggie: I was 12 years old when my mother took me to a local market in Bangkok. I saw a chicken get it's head lopped off. I also had a fish who used to give me really strange looks whenever I'd eat sushi in front of him. So from then on, it was tofu for me.
I decided that it wasn't enough to shun meat when I knew that cows and such were injected with all sorts of randomness just to produce more milk, so 6 months ago I went vegan and developed an addiction to Tofutti. I have had a few relapses, and they were pretty nasty but there is no turning back now. Although I am a general agnostic, I grew up around the teachings of Buddha (Theravada). I would like to spread the word, especially to other Thai Buddhists (including my parents) that it isn't enough to comfort the ego and go vegetarian for a couple months a year. Caring for one another is a bloody lifetime commitment.
"To become vegetarian is to step into the stream which leads to nirvana... may all that have life be delivered from suffering."
