About Me: I'm a vegan...100% for animal rights; I have a tattoo on my back for my dog, Queenie, that had to be put to sleep after I graduated high school; It's the letter Q with angel wings and a halo. I like Running, taking snickers for walks and Ulitimate Spoons... Interests: Film & Video (making and watching), Dance/Dance Choreography, Theatre, Photography, Cooking espically vegan bakery, writing, listening to music. I'm a film major at UWM and I'm hoping to go on to graduate school (N.Y./Chicago/L.A./Milwaukee/France) or get an awesome internship in New York or L.A. Currently I make short personal experimental films/videos about my family and myself, but I'm planning to expanding into narrative (but still experimental) work after I get my BFA. I have been and always will be freakshly shy as much as I try to sometimes work on it. I have a slight obsession with big purses and jewlery mostly from thrift stores (only the best places on earth). I like retro/vintage anything....espically jewlery, dishwear...I have an awesome lion cookie jar that is to cool to even explain..... I hate soda...the bubbles feel weird in my throat, I don't like coffee and I can't stand to be around people who smoke or people who drink a lot and if we're ever walking down the street together and you randomly spit on the sidewalk our friendship will be over, seriously it's so annoying.

How I became a veggie: I was a vegetarien for 3 year before I went vegan for the past almost four years. I just did it because I love animals and it came to the point where I realized that I wasn't living the way I believed.

I'm doing okay. I am also stuck in the work rut. I had wanted to take a week off last month before all of the holiday madness started. Hopefully, I'll be able to maintain my sanity until the new year!

Hey! I haven't chatted with you in a while. Anything new and exciting going on?

So, I went out and bought The Postal Service CD a couple days ago. I sampled more of their songs and really liked what I heard. I had no idea that Jenny Lewis sang the background vocals. She is totally cute. Thanks for sorta recommending them!

Yeah, that is always a pleasant surprise. When I went up to Maine earlier this year, I was surprised at how veg-friendly they are. They've gotten more veg-friendly in New York, too. So, how did your film do at the festival?

That sounds super cool! I hope it goes well for you. Here's a listing of veg-friendly places in Iowa City- http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/iowa/iowa_city/index.html

Oh, sorry! I realized that I didn't answer your other question. It's difficult for me to pick a favorite in anything. I usually gravitate to comedies, but I like other movie genres.

Yeah, I like Michel Gondry's far out visual style. Actually, I have not seen The Science of Sleep yet. Eternal Sunshine is a great movie. I've seen the music video for "Everlong". I think his music videos for "Fell In Love With A Girl" by The White Stripes and "Walkie Talkie Man" by Steriogram are incredibly unique and impressive.

Oh, I know! That ending is terribly sad. Actually, I'm the same way when it comes to buying CDs and DVDs. I want to buy it, but come up with some reason not to get it at that particular moment. Usually, I end up buying it, really enjoying it and then wonder why didn't I buy it sooner!

What's your favorite Zapp Brannigan moment on Futurama? I love the episode when he's attracted to Leela when she's dressed up as a man. "That young man fills me with hope... and other emotions which are weird and deeply disturbing."

Honestly, I haven't heard much by The Postal Service. What I've heard wasn't bad. I like electronica, but in small doses. I know that some bands/artists turn to electronica to creatively expand their songwriting. However, I don't think you can get the same emotional resonance that traditional instruments give. Just my opinion. Interpretation is the beauty of art, don't you think?

I like it, too. I like the contrast of the music being upbeat and then the lyrics being stories of sad, lonely people. My favorite tracks are No Sunlight, Cath... and The Ice Is Getting Thinner. I think The Ice Is Getting Thinner is one of those hauntingly beautiful sad songs.

Another random question- what are your thoughts on the new Death Cab For Cutie album?

I agree with you. There are too many good ones to pick a favorite. Did you know that on the episode where Lisa becomes a vegetarian, Paul and Linda McCartney agreed to guest star in it only if Lisa remained a vegetarian? I thought that was pretty cool.

What is your favorite Simpsons episode?

hahaha im pretty sure your awesome

lol such a good site thanks for the tip ;) , i still cant believe that the Chinese government came out with a scratch and sniff stamp that smelled like sweet and sour pork wtf!? thats soo gross

hey whats up

Going Veggie just before Thanksgiving wasn't planned with me. I was out in Portland with my brother and 7 or 8 other Vegans and we had a huge fest. Out of the 14 dishes and 6 desserts only one wasn't Vegan, and that was because our fake cheese wasn't so fake. We probably ate better than just about everyone else. After that, it just seemed sort of silly not to give it a try.

Life and schooling in Chicago can be expensive, but it's really worth it.

That's awesome.
Ya like UWM?
I'm def. gonna end up going out to NY or Boston eventually for it. Much more opportunity.
Indie films of any sort, but it's gotta have a good meaning behind it.
I'm working right now on a drama that wraps the mafia around a love story. It's real good.

Nice to meet you! :)

Hey Kelli
How's everything?

I like to create different types of movies. Some of my favorite topics include combing 1 or more of the following; passion, witty humor, random drama, romance and so on. I am multi faceted so Hollywood to me is 1 category. I like documentaries, music videos, teaching concepts, parodies plus more. If you ever want an idea, to spark something ask or send a message, really.

What's going on with the Soul Purpose video?
