About Me: i'm an INFP, obsessive knowledge seeker, vegan, artist, queer, activist, spirituality junkie, thift store shopper, neurotic jew, student of life, dreamer, book hoarder, undercover hippie, night-owl, recovering calabasian, organizer, bleeding heart, co-active coach, and super-duper-big dork. I like hot things like tea, harbin hot springs, and baths; eco stuff like hemp pants, biodiesel cars, and organic vegan food; cuteness like baby kitties, small teeth, and dimples; spiritual things like altars, the science of mind, and deeksha; social justice stuff like universal healthcare, nonjudgmental counseling and coaching, and reproductive justice; artsy things like painting, carving wood, altered art, and stream-of-consciousness writing; and beautiful stuff like lake merritt in any kind of weather, the sky when red, and the smile on a lover's face.
How I became a veggie: as a 10-year old animal lover, i came into consciousness about the fact that my hamburgers were the sweet little cows i saw at a farm and i decided then and there that i could not take part in their slaughter and refused to chew meat ever again. my mom was surprisingly supportive of my decision (despite the fact that she was not veggie herself) and she took me to a nutritionist so we could both learn how to cook healthy veggie meals and make sure i was eating well. in college i came across a peta brochure about dairy farms and realized i couldn't take part in that either. the rest is history and i have now been happily vegan for 8 years:)
