About Me: i love blackberry picking! they grow wild all around here. they are everywhere i look...

How I became a veggie: Photobucket

I decided to give vegetarianism a chance (in the winter of 2003) because i had a lot of RESPECT and LOVE for Ocean's daddy Mikojak - and still do, of course! I learned so much by reading books and watching videos and listening to what other vegans and vegetarians had to say. I have been vegan about 2 years and before that more than two years of being vegetarian (with vegan tendencies). I feel guilty a lot about all of the years I was an omnivore. So I suppose that now, I'm just trying to live as cruelty-free as I can - in all aspects of life, not just my diet.

btw... love you and ocean in your hoodies in the woods. so adorable! <3

ha-leeew! i'm back from the wedding and our trip to the great smoky mountains. :) eeeeeeee! it was all so awesome! blog and pics to come!

i hope life in oregon is continuing to be fabulous!

Actually they weren't at all. But that made me all the stronger when other people downed me for not eating meat. My brother also has decided to give up meat (pescatarian) and my family is taking his choice a lot easier than they took mine. But I do live in the south so it is really hard for people to even imagine life without meat.

What a great pic. I am aching for trees and rain and clouds. You both look so happy, unlike your husband running around town looking like Ronald McHobo with his shopping cart.

Did you have a vegan pregnancy?

All is well here and I hope the same for you. :)

Thats an adorable picture of you and your child! :)

Cacey, hello lady!! How are you and the Ocean? Is he doing well? sleeping much? liking the new digs?

Good morning Casey. How's the weather in Oceanside? Don't forget to freeze some of those blackberries for cobblers and crisps and such this winter! Also make great smoothies! It was too dry up in Oakridge the last 2 years. I usually pick tons of blackberries in the field behind my house and along the river nearby :(. Hopefully it will be better next year.
Enjoy our beautiful Oregon coastline girly and kiss that baby every chance you get, he's a cutie!

Hi! Thanks for adding me :) I love your taste in music, by the way ;)

hey, how are you?
my daughter is 12 and the poor thing used to get ill on hot dog day at school every week, now she says she can deal with it.

Passing near ya'lls' place I was sad i couldn't stop through to eat cookies and kick it. Peas and rice to the family.

I think you're right . . . Maybe a star magnolia. If that's from Tower Grove, I'm actually positive you're right. My friend lives virtually across the street and she was telling me that there's all kinds of magnolias. Mine was an early spring bloomer too.

Yeah, my choices were some sort of magnolia or some sort of dogwood. Tried to do some research online about it but it's kind of difficult, considering we've only lived here for 6 months and I have no idea what the tree looks like at all times of the year!

And oh my goodness, Ocean is turning into such a little man!!!

Thank you! She's really a sweetie, . . . when she's sleeping. I must ask, do you know what kind of tree that is in your pic? We have one of those in our front yard, and I have no clue what it is!

Your slide pictures are so beautiful :)
Blackberry picking sounds fun! I worked out in the woods in N.Idaho a few years ago and one of the most satisfying things was finding wild patches of strawberries (the sweetest taste comes from the smallest ones!) and huckleberry bushes :) I felt so in touch with my inner gatherer!!!

Have a great week!

Jackie

Sounds like you are having loads of good outdoor time and fun.

Yes, I used to go by shabkar. But I changed it to lessthanthree. =-)

Hey Lady!!! Hows the new place? Hope you Ocean and Mike are well!!!

Goonies was Astoria. But the beach, with the cool rocks that fit the doubloon, that's Cannon Beach.

hi cacey,
took a break from vegifide, been stopping back in lately. congrats on your move to portland!! i'm hoping to end up there or in brooklyn at some point. love your play list, btw. :)
