About Me: I love animals, music, wrestling, laughing, greg, the summer, and howard stern.

How I became a veggie: I always hated eating meat...the fact that it took me so long to chew thru something was so gross. Plus I LOVE animals, why the hell am I eating them? But I was constantly told that if I don't eat meat, I'll lose even more weight. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance, and decided to really educate myself about nutrition, and I adhered to a strict gluten-free diet, and eliminated meat. A few years ago, I met my bf, and he helped inform me about veganism (he's been vegan since 91). And that's when I eliminated dairy and eggs, as well as any product using/testing on animals. I'm a gluten free vegan, and will never turn back.

Hahahaha, I think you are missing my joke. I am a ginger, you know red hair, freckles,... and I am wild. So hence, I am the wild ginger. hahaha

There sure as hell is a wild ginger in St. Louis! Yeah Yeah! hahaha. Do they have gingers in brooklyn?

haha... i started writing you a comment back, but it got waaaaay too long! ;P check your inbox.

Yeah Josh is pretty cool- he and Michelle do alot for the community. I think now that he and Chad and Emiko from Food Fight are all neighbors alot more will get done. Too bad Herbivore is going under- but he won't stop working so its also gonna be neat to see whats next.

Hey! Sorry for disappearing, no laptop, no internet access at home.

I have a photo to show you re: ghost!!!

It is very spooky!

my summer's been alright. a bit slow and dull due to lack of funds to be able to do anything exciting or out-of-the-ordinary, but i DID get to meet a few of the st. louis folks from this site a few weeks ago. that was awesome. :)

how long have you been an SLP? that and OT have always interested me. i dream of going back to school someday and would love to find out more about your education and experience so far.

i saw up there that you like wrestling. would that be wwe wrestling... or actual sport wrestling... or simply wrestling with your bf and/or friends? ;P

Ta very much! It's so true isn't it? I feel like this is really the genuine me now-who knew? Well not me obviously or I wouldn't have taken till the age of 26 to figure it out! You must need a ton of patience for your job, not to mention energy-which ofcourse you can't have cos where do you get you protein from for goodness sake? Grrr... :)

Happy fun time! Yay!

Just dropping by to say "hello!" Hope your summer's been going well. :)

Hello Tara, its really nice to meet you! I'm fine ta, how are you? Your job sounds so interesting :)

that is cool. i think 2 of my friends have been up to visit last summer. they said it was a great place. i'm doing pretty good, just enjoying the summer. how about you?

thanks for the add. i love your profile picture.

yeah, the city/country thing is a double edged sword. the city is great for night/social life, music, ease of use, friends etc. I miss Austin for that. on the other hand, i got pretty tired of "the scene". after moving, i realized there's much more than the social scene i was very involved in. plus, in order to make a change in the world you have to get out of that scene. it's just preaching to the choir.
anyway, have a great week. i'm off to help people save themselves from themselves.
take care,
Russ

what about me? I work at a backcountry drug and alcohol rehab in Utah. I mostly work as an EMT and make sure the teams are all safe but also work in the teams and do therapy. Great place to work!! very powerful.
kudos to you at your job. that's not easy. it's hard for me to see kids that age already having problems. it's supposed to be a happy, sweet time. the bad stuff is supposed to be for later in life.
travelling? My wife and I are going to Rocky mountain national park next week for a break and then Denver to eat good food as there's not much good here. the tradeoff=we live in a beautiful quiet place but access to things is more limited and veg food is not that great. BUT, i love being out of the city. i'm one of those old punkers who got tired of the city and that life and moved and slowed down.
do you ever hike on the appalachian trail out there?

Peace to the cows. (Thanks for the add)

Tara, thanks for the compliments. you're a sweetie. yeah, we've got a bit of a zoo. i can't handle the shelter thing so we adopt as we can handle. we're about to get two more semi wild cats for our garage. we have a mouse problem and i can't kill them myself. there's a lady here who rescues feral cats and finds homes for them. so, we live on 6 acres and we'll take care of them as much as they'll allow. so, 2 more animals.
nice pics from the animal sanctuary. i work in the backcountry and see tons of free range cattle. they at least look happy in their "current" lives. i see lots of wild turkey on our property. their yearlings are cute.
what do you do in Brooklyn?
Russ

Tara, thanks for the add. I checked out your music stuff on myspace. nice. I still think SOIA's 1st album is amazing. not to mention their cover of Minor Threat.
nice to meet you,
Russ

So now I'd feel guilty if I didn't promise never to murder you.

that's awesome about your photo. =) i wish there was farm sanctuary (or something similar) here in the midwest. i'd LOVE to go to one for part of my "honeymoon". i think it'd really open my bf's eyes, too.

thanks for the add. i *too* love your profile pic. =) is that you or just a random picture?
