Vita CafeLove Vita Cafe! We are no connoisseur to vegan dining, but this food is delicious. The fried risotto balls are amazing- ricey on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and the "chicken" fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy... I'm still coming down from that one. Go. Eat well. Be happy. Food Type: Vegan/Vegetarian/ with some meatCity: PortlandState/Provence: OregonZip/Postal Code: 97211Country: United StatesSun, 09/21/2008 - 1:02am — TimandAleks |
Sages CafeThis gem of a restaurant is owned by two vegans in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are entirely organic vegetarian, but I believe most items on the menu are vegan. They have delicious cheese they make from yeast like no other cheese I have ever had before and their pizza night is always an interesting delight. Blossoming LotusThis place was so yummy and way good for me too! It is located in the Pearl District of Portland. It is actually inside the same building as "Yoga in the Pearl". You walk in and the cafe is to your right with about 16 or so seats for dining inside, but there are a few tables outdoors as well. We ate inside, next to the fountain, which Ocean (my son) really loved! Sacred GroundsIf you ever find yourself on the East side of the Mississippi River in the St. Louis area, make a beeline to Sacred Grounds. There you will find a wide variety of tasty treats, eats, and drinks all for reasonable prices in a groovy atmosphere. It is a coffee place and the coffee is good stuff. But they also have chai made on the premises and they're happy to make it with soy or rice milk for the lactose intolerant (me, I'm lactose intolerant by choice, being vegan and all). VeganopolisAhh (sighs)…. a long road trip and it feels good to help a friend move out to a land that has yet to be explored. We came from Cheyenne that day to arrive 20 miles outside of Portland at 10:30pm. Tired and wanting a fresh start the next day we decided to stay overnight outside of the city. From the long drive, we were tired of the stale beans at Taco Bell and chemically altered veggies at Subway and just couldn't wait to taste the good vittles Portland had to offer. The first thing that next day, we rolled in downtown to a place called Veganopolis. Food Type: DeliCity: PortlandState/Provence: ORCountry: United StatesSat, 08/30/2008 - 11:13pm — adamat |
Liquid EarthAll Vegitarian and Vegan restaurant and cafe. Really great atmosphere. Servaice can occasionally be a bit slow, so be ready to wait. I've sampled just about the whole menu, and everything is very good. They also have smoothies and a large juice menu. They also have some raw options. The reuben (vegan and vegitarian) is really good, I also highly recomend the Liquid Earth Club. Full menu online.
