i just wanted to let everyone know that my mother in law decided to take my chiwuawua pixie in! :)
she is being well taken care of and loved and i can see my fur-baby as often as i want :).
i am going to give her some money monthly for food/grooming/ vet expenses.
i am just soooooooo happy! we werent even going to ask her because she has always said she never wanted an inside pet.
we just stopped by before we took her to the shelter and she started asking me about her and said they were talking about buying a chiwuawua! crazyness. :)
couldnt have been more perfect timing. :)

I am hesitant to post on here, because I'm scared of letting people down if I fail. But I'm going to attempt to quit smoking on Monday. And if I break down and smoke, I'm then going to attempt to quit smoking on Tuesday.

I'm going to try it cold turkey. I've done it before for about 48 hours, then kept "sneaking" them.

Mr. Smiles and I have been together forever. Our relationship's always been a little weird/untraditional in that *he's* been continually waiting for *me* to agree to "make it official". My parents divorced the year I graduated from high school - my mom apparently fell out of love and wanted to start a new relationship with someone else. Even being older, that really messed with my perception of marriage. I was never very religious, anyway, and the divorce was another life experience that served to solidify my (dis)beliefs about church and "God".

yesterday i sat outside with my co-workers after lunch supervising our kiddos on the playground. one of them commented that she didn't feel well at all. i asked her if she had the flu or a headache or had been sick lately (since i'd been on vacation for a while and hadn't seen her for about a week). she told me it was her stomach and that she was pretty sure that it was what she ate for lunch. i asked her what she had, and she told me she had eaten a chicken-and-cheese quesedilla from the caffeteria.

"it feels like there's something in my stomach that just *doesn't* belong there."

Feds Reinstate Wolf Protections in Northern Rockies

Wolf supporters howled in celebration on September 23 when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced it would toss out its own gray wolf delisting rule in the Northern Rockies and go back to the drawing board. Wolves were removed from the endangered species list in March 2008, and the Sierra Club, along with a dozen other conservation groups, challenged the decision in court this April.

It is raining and my tea is ready.

man i mean besides the whole "beef broth is a vegetable" incident i thought my mom was being pretty supportive and understood being a vegetarian. she even has been eating vegetarian meals MOST the time since she has moved in with me. ive never forced my veggie stuff on her LOL she told me she WANTED to go vegetarian for her health.

EXCEPT.......... she's said you know she is going to be vegetarian, BUT she isnt going to deprive herself of a good steak or something if she's craving it. (her actual words)

Soldier guilty over role in Iraqi deaths

A US soldier has been sentenced to eight months in prison for his role in the killings of four blindfolded Iraqi detainees last year, an army spokeswoman said.

The defendant, Specialist Steven Ribordy, pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact but denied a direct role in the shooting deaths at the start of his court martial.
