we have a lot of them in New Zealand, but whenever new ones are being discussed there is an outcry from nearby homeowners whose resale value will be less because of them. They take issue with the noise and the look of it - but mostly the resale issue. They aren't usually rich people, so I picked choice #3. Still we have a power company, Meridian, that is certified carbon neutral and gets its power from renewable sources - water and wind power.

I didn't realize that they DO actually make a lot of noise. I just thought it was considered an "eyesore". I know nothing about them but the stereotypes so that's why I asked. ;) Thank you for responding. :)

Now, if you're going to keep talking up New Zealand you're going to need to go get those adoption papers!

actually I haven't been to one, but someone I know who lives near a wind farm says it makes hardly any noise except a low whoosh when you get right up near them. so I don't know what the fuss is about.

how am I going to explain the sudden appearance of a dozen adoptees to immigration? I need to think of a good excuse... how 'bout we came over on holiday and you all were so cute we couldn't help ourselves... or maybe, it was my misguided attempt to be like Angelina?

lol! I had headphones plugged in so I couldn't get any sound from my speakers, and I was like "why is there no sound?" Then I thought, "Oh, is that the deal? That they're so quiet you can't hear them?"

Then I realized that I had the headphones plugged in. ;) Whoa. Then they DID cut to a shot with no sound. (ok, I'll stop rambling now.)
