Anyone going to AR 2008 Conference?

So as of today, It looks like I'll be in DC for the Animal Rights 2008 Conference August 14th - 18th Near Washington DC. I will be helping out the Chicago Soy Dairy scooping up Temptation Vegan Ice Cream at their table. (woo-hoo!) Stop by and say "hi!".

I hear you Animalia Libero - I wouldn't be going if I was paying for my spot. I've gone in the past and they're great conferences. As for spending money to attend, I've worked my budget so I could afford it in the past - and you can usually attend for free if you volunteer and help out with registrations, etc.

I know people's budgets are tight but if it's a priority, I usually find a way to make it work. (shrug)

Hope this helps,
Mike

i used to hate that everything was in far off ports of call. then i moved to dc, and a good 20% of everything is right here. i'll probably bounce down to the exhibit hall, and the park, but my son REALLY won't dig sitting through workshops.

I didn't find out about it soon enough. I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't know what's going on. Lucky you- the temptation table always kicks ass!
I hope you'll give us the lowdown. It should be exciting this year, I know last year it got pretty edgy with the welfarist speaker. Many people were quite upset. I have a prediction how the balance will be this year. Have fun! Definitely let us know when you get back.

I had actually thought about packing up and heading out there with a group, but alas, it will interfere with Reanissance festival. I work there every year

why are all of these big events always so far away?! washington d.c., new york, boston, san diego/sacramento,... i'd LOVE to go to something like this one of these days, but i suppose st. louis and the surrounding areas are just too lame to ever host anything similar? phooey.
