A:So who is this vegan god and who is the biblical god? To me any god requiring sustenance of any kind, plant or creature, is not the God. But this is my perspective and you're certainly welcome to yours.
According to my readings of the Bible over the years, all human beings from Adam and Eve on were supposed to be vegan until Prophet Noah (as) and his family were given a dispensation during the Flood, which was brought about in part because of humanity's propensity for shedding blood. Of course, there are pre-Flood accounts of humans sacrificing animals to deities to please them, including Able's sacrificing a creature to his deity's delight, which upset his brother Cain enough to murder him, as the deity discussed there did not accept Cain's sacrifice of fruits and vegetables.
Later in the Bible, several people in the Babylonian exile were vegan, including the Prophet Daniel (as) and his companions, Shadrach/Hananiah, Meshach/Mishael, and Abednego/Azariah, if I'm not mistaken. Prophet Ezekiel (as) was vegan for a period of time as well. Jesus' (saws) brother, James the Just (head of the Jerusalem Church) was vegetarian and several non-canonical writings (mostly gnostic) which were rejected from the Orthodox/Catholic Bible state that Jesus himself and many of his followers were vegetarians of some kind.
Some scriptures in the Books of Daniel and Revelation seem to suggest humanity will one day be vegan. If so, my take on it is that it will be not because we are prohibited from flesh, but that we make the wise and compassionate choice to do so. God knows best though.
This is off the top of my head (except for checking the spellings of Daniel's companions), so mistakes are my own. I'd say it's definitely worth checking for yourselves. Peace.
