we need need need to

we need need need to implement a global carbon trading scheme!
This would make the forests worth more than the plantations...

use less everything!

i agree .... that forests -

i agree .... that forests - intactly standing in place - must be recognized as having more worth than temporary plantations ...... just repeating history on that front .... short term monetary gain - buying power - that is the cycle that we need to break , so that we see worth and value in the forests as they naturally are , and not in what they can be reduced to .
sustainability will require much more stretching of the imagination on the corporate and consumer 's scales
President Jagdeo of Guyana has actually plunged into the pool to make a big splash in the carbon trading sector by offering up the Guyanese forest to an exclusively UK run management scheme linked to green energy and sustainable development programmes for the country , but is unhappy with the way the spending , backed by the World Bank (?YIKES!!) has been determined .
there is also some concern in the way emissions trading can be opened up to increase the volumes produced by the large developed nations , as well as being open to speculation as the carbon commodity rises on the market ie ... who actually owns the forest

this is by no means an easy situation for which to find a simple solution , considering the multiple threats , environmental and greed-based , that face the forests and planet as a whole

AUM * USE LESS OF EVERY THING * SELAH
