Anyone ever hike the Appalachian Trail?

M partner and I are thinking that taking the AT hike may a possibility in our future. Has anyone out here done it?

I've hiked half from Roanoke Virginia to the end in Maine. good times. I went with a girlfriend and that was bad news bears. i met couples who later ended it out there. BUT, if you're very relaxed and independent of each other, perhaps. i'd recommend it alone or with some buddies.

I have hiked part, but not all....lol. I love hiking and do quite a bit up here in the Adirondacks. Just climbed Chimney Mtn last Saturday :)

I haven't, but I recommend Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" for a good laugh and a taste of the trail :) Let us know how it goes!!
