Heterosexual Marriage Should Be Illegal

Ok, my rant against heterosexual marriage. The world is already over crowded and these heterosexuals get married and make kids.
We put no limit on how many kids they have and in fact we give them tax breaks for every child. Leave single people to pay more taxes and in fact just being married gets you more tax breaks. They act like it's their right to take my money because I choose not have children!! I have to pay taxes for services for their children including their schooling?! I didn't make these kids?! They all the awhile have fiscal advantages over me by combining their fiscal resources they can make more money then many single people and use that money burn up more of the world's resources, and that's even without their kids. We should make heterosexual marriage illegal!

At least gay couples are more likely to adopt kids! Think of all the orphans that were left after the deaths of thoughtless heterosexuals would be taken care of if we only had gay couples allowed to get married. Think about how world population would drop if we would encourage homosexual marriages over heterosexual marriages. Think of how good it would be for the environment. We should make heterosexual marriage illegal!

Didn't I say that in your

Didn't I say that in your last blog. I gave a great alternative to the marriage issue but not one person commented on it. That just proves people would rather fight over trivialities rather than actually fix the problem.

The issue with civil unions

The issue with civil unions is that if the legal says "marriage/wife/husband/spouse" civil unions are not able to be legally instigated in such contracts. thats the biggest issue with them.

MollyMormon's picture

And that is why they would

And that is why they would be revamped. They should include everyone. Basically just dump the ceremony. As I said NO ONE gets a legal marriage. Straight/gay doesn't matter. Leave marriage in the church. Take all legal crap out of it. Legally everyone should have the right to form families how ever they see fit and be protected. Also as I said, this would protect straight couples that want to shack up because then they have rights and protection without have to get married. You can also look at it the other way around. Why do gay couples get to have a domestic partnership with legal protections but straight people have to get married? Many hetero couples don't believe in marriage, don't they deserve the right to live together and be protected and get medical insurance and not loose their children.

Something like the Islamic

Something like the Islamic Marriage contracts. When they get married, they sign a contract saying they'll be married for a certain amount time and choose to renew the contract every few years. I think that would work here, except the Christian view of marriage prevents this though the reality of marriage in America has changed quite a bit.

Sort of. Get rid of the word

Sort of. Get rid of the word marriage and don't require people to stay together and take sex out of the picture. Open it to sisters brothers Parents and children. Say something happened to my husband and I had a good friend move in and we raised the kids together. It would be a platonic relationship but her medical ins could cover my kids so I could stay home. Or my medical could cover her so she could be there to care for the kids. Or grandparents could insure their abandoned grandkids instead of them being on medicaid. Make it about family not sex. The reality is people are doing it no matter what so why do we form a legal system around it. Many families could benefit from these rights yet we limit the availability to those right to people that are straight and having sex with one another that choose an official ceremony. As I said many couples living together could benefit without feeling forced into a marriage. Many children are fatherless on their birth certs because the parents don't want to marry. So then one day mom gets mad and takes off with the kid. So a man looses his kid because he has no legal rights to it.

Couple of issues with civil

Couple of issues with civil unions. They too have been made illegal in some states for same sex couples and second, I'm not sure civil unions have to recognized by all the states in the union, like marriage has to be.

MollyMormon's picture

And that is why I say it

And that is why I say it should be extended to everybody. Make it about "family" regardless of form it is in. And get the govt. out of the marriage game for everyone. Straight couples would get these partnerships as well.

I read your response Molly,

I read your response Molly, and it was just so perfect that I had nothing to say to it. In all honesty, I'm anti-marriage, because I think it's silly. However, since I realize it won't ever be abolished, I still fight to allow it to be possible for everyone to take part in it.

I see nothing wrong with

I see nothing wrong with people deciding to share fiscal responsibilities with each other and it does help when they do decide to make children or adopt children to have the legal benefits of marriage.

well, remember, i'm anti- all things fiscal and legal, in the idealist sense, too, so it all balances out.

And that's the problem. It's

And that's the problem. It's about reform not abolishment. So if the gay rights groups fought for reform that helps everybody they would be supported. Even very resistant groups would support it because it would help them. All those grandparents raising their grandkids could put them on their medical ins. That would even help the state because those kids wouldn't be on Medicaid.

I don't know if I agree. I

I don't know if I agree. I feel like too many people are too pig headed that anything with the word gay on it is going to get pushed aside. Americans are stupid.

I agree. Too many unwanted

I agree. Too many unwanted kids already. I work with mentally ill children that are the result from heterosexual couples. Because you CAN reproduce doesn't mean you should. I have seen proof of that. I support gay unions with rights to adopt kids that heterosexuals have damaged or have lost parental rights due to abuse and neglect.

I read a political cartoon

I read a political cartoon somewhere long ago titled "The Great Compromise" (that I have never been able to find again) that had 3 cells: 1. Stick figure men with top hats. Caption: Gay marriage legalized. 2. Stick figure ladies with pregnant bellies. Caption: Abortion outlawed. 3. Un-pregnant stick figure ladies cheering, Stick figure men holding a stick figure baby. Caption: All would-be aborted babies go to gay couples desiring children.
