"A "new start" after fifteen

"A "new start" after fifteen years. Is that sad?"

No that's not sad - for lack of more eloquent ways to say it, that's really neat. :) I love the fluidity of relationships and how you can know someone for a long time, but still find ways to redefine and hopefully strengthen the relationship. It's also so neat that you didn't have every last detail planned out 15yrs in advance. There's something so special when a plan comes together and there's even a bit of spontaneity there. The wedding looks so lovely, as do you Smiles. :)

thanks, cok. i *felt*

thanks, cok. i *felt* lovely. =)

like i said down there to molly, i suppose new starts aren't reserved only for "new" relationships. what you said about the "fluidity of relationships"... yes.

i've always loved purple flowers and always wanted an outdoor wedding if i WAS to ever get married, but that's about all that was "planned" in advance. everything else came together in less than three months... most stuff in less than a day. ;P

thanks, molly. i suppose

thanks, molly. i suppose new beginnings are welcomed any time... not just when relationships are in their infancy.

it was so easy to be happy that day, although i think things might not have been so peaceful and serene if there had been a thunderstorm or a downpour. ;P

Thanks for sharing this with

Thanks for sharing this with us, Nikki. It sounds like a beautiful ceremony and things went well! <3 and I had a similar experience with our wedding almost 14 yrs ago! We planned the whole thing in 3 weeks and I didn't have much say since my step-mom did the planning and paying. But, it was a beautiful, small, cozy ceremony. Thanks for bringing up my memories by sharing your experience...and for letting us see the pics. Can't wait to see more!! Welcome to "married" life =D

glad i could bring back some

glad i could bring back some happy memories. =)

i think we ended up with about forty guests which kept it fairly cozy. i can't imagine how crowded it would have seemed if *everyone* we had invited had actually been able to make it. ;P

one of my co-workers made a cd with all of the pictures, but i left it at school/work. she took some really nice candid shots. i can't wait to see them again and post some.

it will all be alright in the end. if it's not alright, it's not the end.

smilesforthesun's picture

haha... i don't think i

haha... i don't think i wrote *that* beautifully, but thank you, katy. =)

i was pretty nervous about the whole procession thing with not having a rehearsal, but it went alright. everyone was pretty impressed with the setting, the set-up, the decorations, and the beautiful weather... i don't think anyone even realized how unplanned the procession was anyway. ;P

we're back from our honeymoon... it's just taken so long to get the pics and my first blog together that i figured the honeymoon needed a blog of it's own. ;P

i hope your wedding goes just as well if not better. you'll have to write me about *your* plans.
