Hiya. Things are good over here. Just loving the beautiful colors of fall. I've taken some nice pics of it at work. So nice. are you enjoying it?

what fest? Ike did that all the way in Michigan? amazing. My parents in Louisiana's hometown took a beating. they're on high ground and are ok. but, much is underwater still.
the ruins are great out there. nothing really touristy. just 4 wheel drive roads and hundreds of ruins everywhere. i'll try and download some. i usually put them on myspace. i've already got quite a few ruin,petroglyph pics up. the human bones are at the ruins. people find them and are respectful enough to leave them along with pottery shards there. if not, bad news. native spirits, v dubs, are not to be messed with. lots of staff stories around those.
speaking of Ike. read my question "oversleeping?". people are nuts.

i was doing physicals with one of our students and a hummingbird came up to me about a foot away and sat there suspended looking at me. i said "hi" which i usually do and it flew off. the student flipped out. i explained how that often happens and i thought she was going to lose it. funny.
how's bartending? are you giving them good therapy? lol.
saw some great ruins this week at work. pottery shards, human bones, etc. cool stuff. good perks with my job.

Went to Ireland? I am Irish! At least by birth, but I´m half -Faroese now :) Only took family photos, the rest is stamped on my heart and in my brain. Had four great weeks there with family and friends, and just having time to relax, travel around and re-immerse myself in my roots. Also had some good weather. good to be back here though. It´ss home - and has been for many years:)

wow. that's quite the number of totems. The hummingbird's definitely mine. Sadly, I think i hit and killed 2 today while driving. One was chasing the other and they hit my windshield and I saw them fall to the ground in my rearview mirror. I was pretty torn up. especially as a totem. I hope that's not bad juju or something.
nice view on guns. you do live in Michigan after all. home to many militias!!! lol. Actually, i live in the wild west pretty much so i do carry a gun at work. everyone has a gun here. in this county it's perfectly legal to shoot someone's dog if they're on your property and harrassing your animals. one of my dogs recently almost got shot for killing a neighbor's chicken. not the best situation.

yeah, there's definitely some hostility in some of those folks answers. i used to be pretty nihilistic/angry with humanity but wouldn't have crapped on my fellow caring vegs. oh well. maturity changes things.
allergies to snow? bummer. sorry. i do also love fall. the season of the dead. our maple tree is turning and it's beautiful. it's coming fast now. this week it'll be in the lower 40's. i'm excited. even though this summer has been relatively mild.

I think so too. It was a unique and special experience for me. There are old legends in both Ireland and the Faroes of seal-women. The seal is said to come in at night and remove her skin to reveal a beautiful young woman. If someone suceeds in hiding the skin before daylight, she must remain a human until such time as her skin is returned. I love the sea, and I love swimming although I don´t get much chance these days, so who knows perhaps I´m a seal-woman! Take care.
