About Me: The Raw Vegan life goes beyond just what you eat. It's also about what "foods" you avoid (wheat, soy, sugar, dairy, etc.), occasional fasting, sleep, exercise, our spiritual journey and many other things. I practice Zen Buddhism, always grateful for spiritual/personal growth. Everything on this path has informed my Raw Veganism. I am not pushing my views on anyone else. I love that I have made new friends here from all over who are open to trying new things. BTW, if you're ever near St. Louis we have an awesome Raw Vegan Potluck on the First Sunday of every month at the Healing Arts Center in Maplewood, MO. You can find out more about it by clicking on the EVENTS tab at the top of this or most any vegifide page. I like to make incredible meals and share them. I enjoy decluttering (less is more), working on and beautifying my home, playing my guitar, working on/riding motorcycles, getting out in nature, travel, sharing meals, massage, film and many other things. Et vous?

How I became a veggie: I remember lots of things that contributed to my decision. I remember hitch hiking through Europe and walking by a slaughter house. I remember the stench and the cries of the cattle. In the beginning, I tried to do variants of a vegetarian diet, but lacked any kind of support or access to information. I really started to understand and progress when I read Dr. Neal Barnard's book "Food for Life" and met and shared veg meals with other vegetarians at the St. Louis Vegetarian society.

Salut Dan, Ca va beaucoup mieux. J'ai eu un accident de voiture l'autre jour au boulot. I have a big tray of wheatgrass.

Hi Lauren, It's all good. Hope you can make it to the Rawluck on Sunday.

Na, not a rider, too dangerous (family in the medical field have plenty of horror stories, plus, my best friends older bro was killed on one)...

I'd much rather do something a lot safer, like twist some aerobatics in an open cockpit biplane :)

Just wanted to stop by and say "Hi". Life has been pretty crazy here. Maybe I'll see you at dinner in January... if there's going to be one then?

i saw yr comment on vegadeli'spage. 92 days of juice!? dude, that's nuts, but awesome.

Comment by Really Raw
You should try it, if only for a few days. The results have been amazing

Thanks for the kind words of support. Looking forward to meeting you soon. Be sure to introduce yourself as "Really Raw" ... Have a great day!

Some time ago---in July---errrrr-I have been remiss in visiting this site, you asked about my re-construction process--it being my happiness and appreciating the breath! I woke up one morning and instead of intellectualizing the teachings of the Buddha I felt them--FINALLY! It is ineffable...

Hey, haven't heard from you in a while... hope everything's going well in your little corner of the Lou.

Hope to see you this Saturday, August 2nd at the Veg*n Potluck & BBQ!

Bring a chair or blanket for the bonfire in the evening.

hugs! :-)

A fellow home beautifier- what sort of things? Pictures? Some of mine http://www.flickr.com/photos/clicheaulait/
More at http://m3house.org My main intrigue currently has to do with garden/water issues. I have questions about my local buddhist friends eating animals.

Hey there...great to meet you!! It's awesome to find out there are so many vegan people in St Louis!

Not exactly a veg-friendly world out there. It's so nice when we can join together here.

Ah! why didn't you tell me there was a drum circle!!!!

Thanks for the add. Hope things are well with you.

:) hey there, nice to meet you - thanks for the befriendment

lalala, raw food - presently I'm halfway through guzzling a triple-decker lovely tasty sandwich containing raw goodness such as a carrot, some red pepper, cucumber, tomato - all organic ~woooohooo !~ although the bread isn't (just seedy wholemeal stuff) and neither are the fantastically gluey tahini or houmus.
:) It's all good.

Mmmmmm that sounds nice. I would probably wrap it all up in lettuce leaves stead of Bread though

So at Trader Joes today I splurged a wee bit and got one of those "JŎCALAT" gluten free, dairy free, soy free, I wish they were buy one get one free, chocolate bars. Crazy delicious. It says on the package that they're 90% raw too, so I thought of you anyway. :)

Check out David Wolfe's Book "Naked Chocolate"

Thank you for inviting me. Sorry I stole your show, it seems that's a new bad habbit of mine.
